Ermenegildo Zegna Unveils New Los Angeles Global Store

Ermenegildo Zegna debuts its new Global Store at 337 North Rodeo Drive relocating eighteen years after the opening of the previous location at 301 North Rodeo where the brand established itself as synonymous with quality and excellence.

Designed by renowned architect Peter Marino, the store showcases the Ermenegildo Zegna collections within more than 5,800 square feet of luxury selling space. All of Ermenegildo Zegna’s diverse offerings are displayed within the store’s three floors, ranging from formalwear and sportswear to accessories and fragrances, including the Zegna Sport collection. Presented in its own dedicated area, the store is one of three US stores to offer the Couture collection designed by new Head of Design, Stefano Pilati.

A key inspiration for the store design is the fabric created at Zegna’s eponymous wool mill in Trivero, Italy for over one hundred years. Within the double height storefront windows, metallic strands resemble the textile composition of warp crossing weft, transforming raw material into fibers. In keeping with the Italian heritage of the brand, the Beverly Hills Global Store will house modernist furnishings such as a pair of lounge chairs designed by Milo Baughman (1975), a set of Artona armchairs by Afra and Tobia Scarpa and a Gio Ponti sofa and two lounge chairs (1960) taken from the Hotel Parco dei Principi in Rome. This original furniture also compliments specially commissioned artwork. Mimmo Jodice’s photograph Villa Zegna (2007) depicts the home of the Founder Ermenegildo Zegna in Trivero, Italy. Emil Lukas’ ZegnaSilk thread painting Zegna Silk Hum (2012) is displayed above the stone fireplace in the Couture room, enriching the visual experience in store. With a nod to the southern California lifestyle, three works of art depicting surf boards by Peter Dayton hang along the staircase leading to the second floor.

The collections are displayed across different areas specially designed to create a virtual journey through the Zegna world. Customers begin their experience on the ground floor and traverse the store’s multiple levels, ultimately reaching the luxury room, an area devoted to personal shopping. The luxury room, featuring an artisanal wooden floor and golden stucco walls, becomes the most impactful and intimate space inside the store, ideal for VIP appointments. On the third level, customers will also find a 600 square foot terrace with custom furniture that overlooks famed Rodeo Drive.

The store opening also marks the arrival of the Personalization Project, offering the ultimate expression in made-to-order clothing and accessories. This prestigious new program debuts September 2013 in only two other stores in the US, New York and Chicago. Created to meet the needs of discerning gentlemen who enjoy the privilege of choosing their own fabrics and finishing touches to create impeccable clothing and accessories, Zegna’s Personalization Project guarantees a renewed elegance and the unmistakable craftsmanship that has distinguished Zegna for over a century.

The Beverly Hills Global Store is the 16th Peter Marino Concept Store to open globally. This store, along with others in cities such as Milan, New York, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Chengdu are the result of a fruitful partnership with the world-renowned architect Peter Marino, whose design echoes the brand’s use of quality materials, integrity and modern style throughout the space. Of exceptional note is New York’s Fifth Avenue Global Store, which won the American Institute of Architects New York State Merit Award for Architecture in 2008.
