‘Baby Daddy’s’ Tahj Mowry: “It’s impossible not to have a fun day at work with babies around.”
Baby Daddy continues to be one of the best things that’s happened to Abc Family’s comedy block, and the return of Tahj Mowry to sitcom is one of the best things of well..ever if you speak to the Smart Guy generation. I;e, me. Mowry, 27, plays Tucker Dobbs on the abc family sitcom which airs Wednesdays at 8:30.
Mowry tells us that working on a show and having babies as co-workers is just as trying yet fun as it’s depicted on screen.
“I grew up doing sitcoms and It’s something that rarely changes. I love sitcom. So basically it’s like being home for me.” He says of the format of the current gig. “But with this show it’s a little different because we have babies involved. Everything’s a little different, everything can stop at the drop of a hat.” The babies can also show some diva-behavior like any star less-than-toddler would. “
“You have to make sure the babies are comfortable. Sometimes the babies are crying when they’re supposed to be happy, so you got to jump between scenes, but it keeps you on your toes,” he says. “It’s impossible not to have a fun day at work with babies around. It’s funny to see the cameraman goggling and gagging at these babies all the time.”
However, diva behavior is only earned after holding down a track record of numerous impeccable performances.
There’s days on set where we’ll have a daycare episode where the entire set is filled with babies, and that gets kind of crazy,” says Mowry. The babies we use for the lead babies are way more professional than the others. (Laughs).
Don’t miss Baby Emma stir up trouble with Tucker and the gang Wednesdays at 8:30. Only on abc Family.
